One thing, besides food, that I check for when going to a new city is art on otherwise, blah canvas building walls. There is nothing more dope, I swear, than seeing graffiti tagged up plain walls. Because of this, Phoenix, I swear, is my top pick! I love Phoenix for granting the natural rights of talented artist to self express artistically throughout the city. Seeing the murals along the freeway, restaurants, walls to wall, makes you feel a little proud to be a lighter shade of brown.
Graffiti art to draw on walls must be a challenge but to street artist this talent that usually burst into creative visuals, adding colors on something that otherwise would lack not only color but character and creativeness. Walls with graffiti bring out the building atmosphere and to me, makes it look appealing to one who self likes to be culturally expressive.
Good graffiti drawings on walls & elsewhere shouldn’t be suppressed. Good graffiti drawings bring life to the location in which the art is displayed and more building should allow more culturally creative artistry into their plain colorless and lifeless walls.
Can graffiti be art, really shouldnt be questionable. Graffiti drawings or graffiti spraying is a talent that not anyone can do, especially naturally. World wide graffiti has gone allowing the world to tag up life onto walls.
Classy graffiti, what is that? Graffiti usually evolves in the mind of the artist and one can careless, I can imagine, on doing anything else but spray paint walls. Why would graffiti not be considered art? Again, oppression to the art.
Graffiti Art History can date back to Ancient cultures like the Egyptians, Romans and Native Americans. But instead of spray painting like the 90's or 20th century street artist, they actually had to break off pieces of walls to display visual images. Street artist or taggers now tag up what they see, meaningful or challenging life experiences or sometimes are consider vandalizing all because they may just want to tag up their name or affiliation.
This creative expression that the public like me recognizes brings color and life to my community and this is the best tagged up wall thus far, that I have seen in Phoenix, AZ.
They have museums, we have public supportive business owners that allow street artist to artify it's otherwise plain off white walls.
